1000 Book Challange

What is 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten?

A simple way to encourage a love for reading from the beginning of your child’s life.  The concept is simple.  Read 1,000 books with your child before your child enters kindergarten.  Hernando County Public Library has set up a reward system for this program.

How to Complete the Challenge and Earn Prizes

Log every book you read to your child using the Beanstack app.

  1. Return to the library after every 100 books read to move your duck to the pond that represents the number of books read.
